Why support us?
It costs over £150,000 a year just to keep the farm open. This would not be possible without donations from the public. We have over 100 animals, 20 acres of land, miles of fencing, dozens of stables and outbuildings, two play areas and a picnic area - not to mention our members of staff. As you can imagine, this all takes quite a bit of upkeep!
How we raise funds
We are grant aided by Leicester City Council, which covers around a third of the money we need to raise each year. We also apply for and (if we are lucky) receive grants from various organisations. In the past these have included Local Alchemy, Community Chest and the Heritage Lottery Fund. Each year we organise fundraising events and hold Fun days several times a year. The money raised from all this helps a great deal but we still need support to keep the wolf from the door (very important with all the sheep we have!)
How you can help
There are lots of ways you can help support us:
- Send us a donation by cheque or postal order
- Set up a standing order to make regular donations
- Sponsor a fence post
- Sponsor an area of the farm - we offer annual packages for this.
- Adopt an animal
- Become a member
- Become a volunteer
- Donate equipment, labour or materials
- Donate prizes for raffles and tombola’s
Your donations really make it possible for us to continue our important projects, such as our educational activities and community work, as well as to care for the animals that live here and to keep the farm open to the public. If you require further details about how you can help please telephone 0116 253 7582.
